Welcome back to Skyrimmagic. Today we are bringing a topic back up that needs a little more attention than it had in our previous entry. This is the topic of Dragon Priest and their masks. As many of you know there are 8 masks in the game that come from eight different dragon priests, usually located around woord walls and inside runes. Each of these eight masks has there own ability or enchantment that acts on the wearer. Below is a list of the masks, where you get them and what the effects are.
Hevnoraak, Valthume-Immune to Disease and Poison.
Krosis, Shearpoint-Lockpicking, Archery and Alchemy are 20% better.
Morokei, Labyrinthian-Magicka regenerates 100% faster.
Nahkriin, Skuldafn-+50 Magicka, and Destruction and Restoration Spells cost 20% less.
Otar, Ragnvald-Resistance against fire, frost and shock is improved.
Rahgot, Forelhost-Increases Stamina by 70 points.
Volsung, Volskygge-Prices are 20% better, Carry 20 points more, and can breathe under water.
Vokun, High Gate Ruins-Conjuration, Illusion and Alteration spells cost 20% less magicka to cast.
Once the player has acquired all eight of these masks it is suggested he head back to Labrynthia. Here there is a small shack covered with snow that contains the remains of a skeleton with a wooden mask sitting nearby. Take the mask and head to the broken down dragon shrine in the middle of Labrynthia and equip the mask. The player will be transported back in time, to a time when the dragon priest shrine was still intact. There will be eight bust too match the eight masks and the player must put the masks on the busts. Once doing this the dragon head in the middle of the shrine flips up revealing a ninth secret dragon priest mask.
This mask is gold, and is thus upgraded using a gold ingot, and has a very interesting effect. It is called Konahrik and when worn it has a chance to heal the player if his health gets too low and cause damage to enemies, this damage is in the form of a fire cloak that the mask puts around the wearer. Again this is by chance and I do not know the rate that this happens.
A second, even cooler effect however, is that in some rare instances, the mask will summon a dragon priest on the player, presumably Kanahrik to help out. The priest has ice spike in one hand and some form of reanimate corpse in the other. While he is summoned the player also gets unlimited dragon shouts. This effect is simply amazing, and I wish I knew of a way to make it activate over the other put I have not found of any yet.
As always hope you enjoyed and check out Skyrimmagic. for more info and happy travels!
